NH Jury Returns To Consider Drug Liability Case
CONCORD, N.H. (AP) ― A federal jury returns to deliberate the case of a New Hamphire woman seeking more than $24 million from the maker of a prescription drug she took to ease shoulder pain, but suffered a reaction so severe the is now blind and scarred by burns.

The jury was to return Tuesday; It recessed Friday after one full day of deliberations. The trial lasted 14 days in the lawsuit filed by 51-year-old Karen Bartlett of Plaistow against Philadelphia-based Mutual Pharmaceutical Co. Mutual manufactures and distributes a generic brand of Sulindac, an anti-inflammation drug.

Barlett's lawyers called Sulindac a useless drug that poses unreasonable danger to consumers. Lawyers for Mutual argued that Sulindac has been marketed for 32 years and that all drugs carry risks of side effects.
